CIFOR-ICRAF experts at Forestry Webinar Week
Uniting online to ‘build back better’Join top scientists from the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) and World Agroforestry (ICRAF) at COVID-19 Forestry Webinar Week, hosted by the U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization and partners.
Virtual sessions will replace the usual biennial meetings of the Committee on Forestry (COFO) and World Forest Week in Rome because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The webinar week topic, “Building back better: COVID-19 pandemic recovery contributions from the forest sector, will highlight the impact of the pandemic on forests, forest dwellers and businesses and seek solutions to some of the emerging related challenges.
Thematic sessions will provide opportunities for delegates to discuss the current situation and contribute their ideas on how to build a more resilient and sustainable future as the world begins to tentatively emerge from under the shadow of the pandemic.
Among other topics, they will also delineate how enhanced and more responsive support to countries can be delivered through international forest governance mechanisms and development partnerships.
