Gerard Bondeko

Gerard is the Communities Coordinator for the Wildlife Conservation Society’s project in the Lac Tele Community Reserve, Republic of Congo. A member of the Bomitaba people, he is also an ‘Ndami’, or elder, for Elenda village, situated in the heart of the Congo Basin’s Cuvette Centrale peatland. He has worked for WCS for over 15 years, working in close collaboration with fishers, smallholders and other people who rely on these forests for their livelihoods.
