The circular bioeconomy: Jobs, biodiversity, safer environment
Building nature into the economy can create jobs, protect biodiversity and support smallholder farmers and forest dwellers. CIFOR-ICRAF researchers are investigating how circular value chains can better account for ecosystem services in commodity sectors like cocoa and coffee, how landscape restoration can contribute to renewable biomass energy and how agroforestry systems can build healthy soil and reduce fossil fuel-based fertilizers. On 19 March, learn more by joining the first conference focused on how forests and trees in the Global South can contribute to a circular bioeconomy.
