Haze Crisis Causes Rp200 Trillion in Financial Losses

Financial losses due to forest fires and haze crisis in Sumatra and Kalimantan in 2015 is estimated to reach Rp200 trillion. Researcher at the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) Herry Purnomo said that the financial losses was the accumulation of factors such as health, damage to words, air pollution, and the disappearance of bio diversities. Riau province, he added, has reported a financial loss worth up to Rp20 trillion.
