This will be the first constitutive meeting of the CBFP (Congo Basin Forest Partnership) Council, since EU (European Union) took the facilitation of this institution from the US. The EU are propose a structuration of the CBFP around 7 colleges. CIFOR is within the college no 6 on “Institutes of research and education”. The EU are also structure ne next conference of parties around 5 streams as follow: Stream 1 Forest management policies and land use planning Stream 2 – Conservation and sustainable use of wildlife resources, including fight against wildlife trafficking Stream 3 Climate Change (Mitigation and Adaptation) Stream 4 Sustainable economic development and private sector Stream 5 Promoting knowledge-based decision-making CIFOR had been alwasy a technical contributor to the meetings of CBFP which is a nice plateforme to share our research findings, but also inter-act with partners, COMIFAC (Central African Forest Commission ) members and other boundary partners.
