Conference postponed

Due to the COVID19 circumstances, our Conference Organising Committee has made the decision to postpone the 11th INTECOL International Wetlands Conference by one year to October 2021 (exact dates to be confirmed), which of course we had to do with regrets.

The decision has not been made lightly, given the incredible amount of work that has gone into the organisation of what was shaping up to be an outstanding conference. We have consulted with INTECOL and other key partners, the New Zealand Freshwater Sciences Society, the National Wetland Trust and the Australian Freshwater Sciences Society. 

With the uncertainty around travel and mass gatherings in the coming months everybody felt that postponement was the best option to ensure that as many people as possible could attend the conference both from New Zealand and internationally. 

I wish to personally acknowledge the enormous work and success of the very committed team who have been planning for this event. 

Due to the postponement we have re-opened our call for abstracts portal so you are welcome to submit an abstract if you haven’t done so already. We will update the website in the coming weeks with the new submission timeline. 

Registrations have also been put on hold for now and will reopen later in the year. If you are now already on our database please ‘subscribe to our mailing list’ above to stay up to date with the planning as we progress.
