The first entries for the Think Forests video competition are online and ready for you to watch and vote.
Videos must answer the question ‘Why do we need forests for a sustainable future?’
Two entries have been received so far, and the issues they tackle are as diverse as forests themselves.
In ‘Tropical forests for climate and development’ awesome animations are used to explain why we need tropical forests and how we can avoid the dangers of deforestation. While ‘Like a human being, same as me’ interviews from Indigenous leaders from Asia and Latin America are used to explain why Indigenous land rights are a critical issue for environmental, as well as human wellbeing.
The video with the most people commenting will win a prize of US$1,000 and all entries are in the running to win the judges award of US$4,000.
