A delegation of scientists from the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) will be presenting their latest research at the thirteenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD COP13), to be held in Cancún, Mexico, from 4 to 17 December 2016.
Around 10,000 participants from government, research, civil society and more are expected to join the conference of the highest governing body of the CBD, which first came into force in December 1993.
Alongside the main event, Cancún will also host the eighth meeting of Parties to the Cartagena Protocol (COP-MOP 8) and the second meeting of Parties to the Nagoya Protocol (COP-MOP 2) from 2 December.
Relevant research on forest landscape restoration, sustainable agriculture, forest conservation and the impacts on livelihoods, food security and biodiversity will be among the topics presented by CIFOR scientists and associates.
