Jino KWON is a seconded scientist of NIFoS of Korea Forest Service, and a landscape ecologist with the “Forest Restoration in the degraded land & urbanized areas” theme at CIFOR. In December 2019, he joined CIFOR’s “Forest Restoration for Bio-energy in degraded Peatland” research theme. Jino KWON had been working as the Korean government specialist of the UN Convention to Combat Desertification, particularly around reducing sand and dust storms. His initial work with CIFOR’s Climate Change and Forest Restoration Project focused on networking and sharing the practical process between the scientists of East Asia in North and South in terms of the experience and strategy. He has participated in the evaluation of local-regional forest restoration projects for degraded land in dry zones.
