Swetha Peteru is a Scientist with the Sustainable Value Chains and Investment (VC) Team with experience in analyzing impacts and conducting assessments of environmental policies and initiatives. Since January 2022, she has been supporting VC projects in Indonesia and Southeast Asia. Her areas of expertise are in human-environment geography, environmental governance, and stakeholder engagement. As a part of CIFOR since 2018, she has worked on various projects related to jurisdictional sustainability, including the design and implementation of jurisdictional assessment tools. Her prior research has explored the practices and impact of integrated development-conservation efforts in Peru and knowledge differences among stakeholders in the Caribbean through a political ecology lens. Swetha holds a PhD in Geography from Texas A&M University, a Masters degree in Geography from Miami University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Geography from Colgate University.
