Ivy Amugune is a Research Assistant, and has been with the Value Chain and Investment Team since 2017. Working with Paolo Cerutti on NTFP value chain analysis projects in Africa, Ivy specializes in value chain analyses for community-based NTFPs, such as timber, charcoal, and firewood. Her initial work with CIFOR focused on a work package of the Water Towers Project in the Mau water catchment area, particularly on analyzing charcoal value chain structures in the Mau Forest areas of Kericho, Bomet, and Nakuru, as well as how policies relevant to charcoal were being effected in those areas. She also participated in an assessment of woodfuels in African countries’ INDCs, which was part of CIFOR's Global Comparative Study on REDD+, and gender analysis review of Kenya’s Forest Landscape Restoration (FLR) strategy.
