The international community yesterday (Thursday) celebrated Earth Day. In Jakarta, the Forestry Ministry, in cooperation with the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR), celebrated it by launching the so-called "Tree Adoption Program" in protected forests in Situgede village in Bogor, West Java. Under the program, people living near the protected forests were given seeds to plant. Hopefully, this program would be disseminated to the public and make the people aware of the need to plant and take care of trees.
