Illegal loggers: Shoot them, Jakarta says

JAKARTA - Indonesia can no longer be accused of not taking illegal logging seriously. Amid accusations from environmental groups and the country's Forest Ministry that Indonesia has not done enough to tackle the problem, Environment Minister Nabiel Makarim said in Kuala Lumpur last week that under a new law the crime of illegal logging would become a capital offense.
