Query

A second possibility is to query some of the data by filling in a taxon (family or genus) of interest in the query form below. One can refine the search by simultaneously selecting a vegetation type.

When you select any of the species in the resulting list, taxonomic data for this species will be presented, including a list of the plots where it was found. You can then select a plot and obtain a description of the plot characteristics and species composition.

Family:   Genus: *
Vegetation Type :   **

Hints :

* One of these taxonomic parameters must be filled in. You may also enter only a few letters of the name (e.g. "Magno").

**Brief description of vegetation types:

  • Primary Forest; Forest that has never been greatly modified

  • Modified forest; Forest modified by human or natural causes

  • Old fallow; Previously cultivated area abandoned more than 10 years ago

  • Young Fallow; Previously cultivated area abandoned less than 10 years ago

  • Horticulture; Area under perennial crops (often cash crops)

  • Agriculture; Area cultivated in the year of the survey

  • Special Natural; Vegetation at special site or with special character, often very localized (e.g on limestone or coal, in swamp or at salt spring)

  • Special Modified; Vegetation at special site or with special character, and modified in some way. Includes old village sites, graves, bamboo stands
