Ethiopia is a land locked country located in the northeastern part of the horn of Africa between 3 N and 0 0 0 15 N latitudes and 33 E and 48E longitudes.
It is bordered by Eritrea in the North, Sudan in the West, Somalia and Kenya in the South and Somalia and Djibouti in the East (figure 1). The country has a
topographic diversity encompassing high and rugged mountains, flat-topped plateaus; deep gorges with
rivers and rolling plains in lower altitude. It has a diversified land formation with great variation in
altitude ranging from -125m in the Afar depression to the Ras Dajen summit at 4620m. a.s.l.
