Activity 1 - Land tenure assessment in Colombia (Tier 2 country in GCS-Tenure)

A current, central issue in Colombia, as the peace accords are being negotiated, is the lack of unified information on the multiple and overlapping land tenure regimes in the country.

With the Post-War discussions, the issue of tenure has gained significant relevance with the need to respond to land claims for restitution and reparations.

A lack of analysis in this area could result in the government promoting decisions that could unleash other types of conflicts in an already difficult context.

In response to this, CIFOR is conducting an assessment of land tenure in Colombia as a way to inform future decisions on tenure rights.
