This project involves a study of the community forestry regime in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
The Government of the DRC passed its Community Forestry Decree (Décret fixant les modalités d’attribution des concessions forestières aux communautés locales) in August 2014 but this decree has not yet been operationalized.
The World Bank is currently preparing a sector study to advise the Government of the DRC on its approach to the forestry sector. Among the outputs of this study will be a short policy note on community forestry.
