This project involves the management and presentation of the Global Landscapes Forum on 6-7 December, 2014, in Lima, Peru, midway through the UNFCCC COP20. It will convene more than 1,500 participants to discuss landscape approaches and their potential to inform a future UNFCCC agreement and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.

The Forum is being coordinated by CIFOR, in partnership with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and Peru’s Ministry of Environment (MINAM). It is supported by leading international organizations as implementing partners, and more than 40 participating organizations.

The Forum has three interlinked objectives:

1. To present and debate evidence of, and experience in applying integrated landscape solutions;

2. To inform decisions and policies on climate change action, the post-2015 development agenda, and green economy initiatives; and,

3. To identify priority research areas, research questions and policy gaps.
