This project is an initial phase to prepare a proposal for the main phase, where CIFOR will be one of the research partners in the main proposal. In this phase, CIFOR will: 1) give an overview about the past activities related to Payments for Forest Ecosystem Services (PFES) in Vietnam, 2) participate and give a presentation at the workshop that will be organised by WWF Vietnam, 3) identify the key stakeholders at the local level, conduct interviews, compile information and prepare report as inputs for the proposal writing process, 4) contribute to the draft strategy on the responsibilities and tasks of the local partners and the stakeholder engagement, and (5) participate in the proposal writing.
