Citizen Scientists testing Nitrate levels in the water, Sondu Basin.

"The citizen scientists have been testing the nitrate using the test strip, where they dip the test strip in the water and after 60 seconds they compare the colour change with the colour scale that is given on this test kit. From there they can tell the level of the nitrate in the river." – Naomi Njue (CIFOR Intern and PhD Student, Justus Liebig Universitat, Giessen).
