Peat Geophysics and Fire

16 - 22 May 2016, Pekanbaru

Center for International Forestry Research and Riau University are organizing the workshop on Peat Geophysical Characteristics and Fire Emissions. The goal of the workshop is to build scientific capacity that enables us to provide credible scientific information needed in the policy making processes. The program will consist of field orientation and classroom type of theoretical and practical discussion of the equipments; Ground Panetrating Radar (GPR), Rod Surface Elevation Table (RSET-MH), Portable Gas Chromatography and FTIR, in order to understand peat biophysical characteristics and fire disturbance that cause changing in peat thickness and GHG emissions.
