International Conference on Community Forest Management and Enterprises – July 16-20, Rio Branco (AC), Brazil. This conference will bring together about 250 leaders of forest communities, public forest agencies, forest industry and conservation groups to share experiences in community forest management and enterprises from around the world.
It will explore case studies from more than a dozen community forests and debate the best ways of assisting the sustainable development of community-based operations. The conference is organized by the International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO), the Rights and Resources Initiative (RRI) and the Global Alliance of Community Forestry (GACF) in cooperation with IUCN – the World Conservation Union. It is hosted by the Government of Acre and the Government of Brazil through the newly created Brazilian Forest Agency.
