Will hold
Barcelona PEN workshop
We would like to invite all partners of the Poverty and Environment Network (PEN) to the 4th PEN workshop in Barcelona in January 2008. While the first phase of the PEN project (and the first three workshops in 2004-2006) focused on fieldwork and methods of data collection, this workshop will officially launch the second phase, focused on the global data analysis and synthesis. It will also be the first opportunity to get all PEN partners together.
The workshop will be divided into two parts. The first three days will take stock of implemented PEN studies and set the stage for the global analysis and synthesis, e.g., identifying common research questions tailored to the different sub-topics. Furthermore, we will critically review the fieldwork experience and the PEN data collection format, in the light of the numerous completed studies.
The second part of the workshop is a two-day applied training course for individual PEN partners in data management and analysis using Stata. It will include hands-on sessions on data checking, management, description, comparison, reporting, and analysis.
