Result-based payments for REDD+

Experiences and way forward

Result-based payments are a cornerstone of REDD+. So far, 39 countries have submitted reference levels (RLs) to UNFCCC. We discuss experiences with setting RLs and applying for result-based payments, and with performance-based finance, to meet climate change objectives. We examine key challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
