CIFOR is looking for a

Web Designer


CIFOR runs a large suite of medium to high traffic websites. The Web Designer will be responsible for managing the visual build and design elements of all web content, as well as offline html-based products such as DVDs, mobile apps and email newsletters. The incumbent will work closely with the web team programmers and analysts to ensure that new products and revisions are completed to deadlines and with international quality results. The Web Designer will work in a fast-paced, innovative environment, and will have the opportunity to innovate with new functionality in addition to meeting regular outputs.

Duties and responsibilities

 Design web-based visual elements, web pages and full web sites
 Consult with clients and web team about project requirements and recommend best practices
 Review the implementation of designs
 Stay up to date on new design trends, technical advances and software
 Support day-to-day urgent requests
 Assist the web team and the Multimedia Services Manager in planning and executing short- and long-term projects
 Assist in planning and executing marketing packages related to publication launches, events, and special occasions
 Work closely with the print team designer to meet overall branding visibility standards
 Review design work done by external consultants for quality and accuracy
 Details of duties, assignments and objectives will be further discussed and then detailed in the annual performance contract/work plan for this position.

Education, knowledge and experience

 2+ years experience in website design on high traffic sites
 Expert in WordPress, CSS3 and jQuery framework
 Able to write and edit clean, well-structured, optimized and well-commented code, and manage source versioning with GitHub or SVN as part of a standard workflow
 International experience, especially in the NGO or international development field, a strong advantage
 Fluent in English

Terms and Conditions

• This is a nationally recruited position. CIFOR offers attractive competitive compensation and benefits, commensurate with skills and experience.
• The contract will be for 2 years with the possibility of extension contingent upon performance, continued relevance of this position and available resources.
• The position will be based in Bogor, Indonesia.
