Consultant – UX/UI Designer

Overview

The Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) is the world’s largest knowledge-led platform on integrated land use, dedicated to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and Paris Climate Agreement. The Forum takes a holistic approach to facilitate sustainable landscapes that are productive, prosperous, equitable and resilient, looking at five cohesive themes: food and livelihoods, landscape restoration, rights, finance and measuring progress. It is led by the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR), in collaboration with its co-founders UNEP and the World Bank, as well as Charter Members.

Duties and responsibilities

The GLF UX/U Designer works on the GLF digital and web teams, and is responsible for delivering the best possible online user experience, which makes the role important for GLF’s continued success and ensuring visitor/member satisfaction and loyalty. You will design graphic user interface elements like menus, tabs, forms and widgets, using various methods and the latest technology.

Under the supervision of the Head of Digital and the GLF Webmaster, the Consultant will perform followings tasks:

Optimize the current mobile experience, following a mobile-first UX/UI design process
Plan and implement new designs
Optimize existing user interface designs
Test for intuitivity and experience
Communicate with department heads to understand their organizational goals and objectives
Develop technical and organizational requirements and strive to deliver intuitive, user-centred solutions
Combine creativity with an awareness of design elements
Create prototypes for new product ideas
Test new ideas before implementing
Conduct ongoing user research

Education, knowledge and experience

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
5 years of experience as an UI-UX Designer or similar role
UI design portfolio
Knowledge of Adobe’s range of products, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat and Dreamweaver
5 years of experience working with HTML5 & CSS3
Some knowledge of usability factors in Human-Computer Interaction
