For more information please visit http://www.cifor.org/gender/home.html

Women are often excluded from the decision making process in their communities because of social barriers; logistical barriers; the rules governing community forestry; and male bias in the attitudes of those promoting community forestry initiatives. CIFOR has been doing research on the differences between genders and the effects it has on these communities. This video demonstrates the importance of women’s roles in their community and questions how they might be better represented in the future.
