Rachel Kyte on the economic and financial case for a landscapes approach

Rachel Kyte, Vice President and Special Envoy for Climate Change at the World Bank Group, says the scientific and civil society community needs to assume responsibility for developing tools to make ‘landscapes approaches’ easier to apply on the ground.

Speaking on the sidelines of the Global Landscapes Forum in Lima, Peru, she said:

“There’s an urgent need to bring our technical knowhow, our programmatic knowhow, the different stakeholders, and the financing mechanisms that have been developed, together in packages that are easy for developing country governments to use… That’s going to be absolutely fundamental if we’re going to get to speed and scale.”
