Summary: Louis Verchot, director of forests and environment research at the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) has called on negotiators at an upcoming climate summit in Warsaw to move ahead with a U.N.-backed mechanism to safeguard the world’s forests in order to slow climate change in reaction to a new report from the U.N.
