This session will discuss the role of agroforestry and trees outside forests for the achievement of various objectives of landscape management. Drawing on examples from different regions of the world and from perspectives of different stakeholder groups, it will explore experiences and best practices, socio-economic issues, and enabling policy and institutional frameworks related to agroforestry development.
The session consists of presentations by the authors of selected voluntary papers submitted to the Congress followed by an interactive discussion among the speakers and with the audience. Each author will be asked to give a short presentation of the paper, then to focus on providing a few key messages of wider relevance. The outcome of the session will be summarized in a report and the key message(s) reflected in the report of the World Forestry Congress.
