Projects Summary

TroFCCA is a research initiative on adaptation to climate change. During its four years, we will produce research relevant for policy processes in the countries where it will be implemented by :
  • Focusing its activities on development topics of regional/national priority and for which forests play a substantial role. These topics will be chosen in consultation with national governments and through policy dialogues implemented through workshops.
  • Developing methods to assess vulnerability relating to the topics identified above
  • Applying these methods to assess vulnerability and identify adaptation priorities
  • Developing work on adaptation in conjunction with national partners, aimed at specifying adaptation needs and strategies in the context of the above development topics.
  • Identifying and developing ways to incorporate adaptation concerns into national policies, including sectoral ones.
  • Triggering innovative mechanisms to finance adaptation, like the participation of the private sector.
  • Establishing a regional policy dialogue to enhance regional cooperation on adaptation.
