1 Introduction

Research context

Vietnam is a country that has been changing its policy on managing forest from State Enterprises-based to Community-based. In this country people were given the right to manage forests land by the government.

Stakeholder and biodiversity in the forest at the local level is a three year long collaboration between the Center for International Forestry Research and the Swiss Development Cooperation. Tropenbos International vietnam has been acted as a very helpful collaborator enabling the application and successfulness of the activities. The project contributes to goals of enhancing livelihoods of the forest dependent poor and sustainable forest management. The project aims to strengthen local capacity to plan and implement locally relevant forest landscape management as a mechanism to achieve those goals.
