Co-management of renewable natural resource on a coastal zone

Objective

The overall objective of this case study was:

  • To contribute to the enhancement of natural resource sustainability for the improvement of the quality of life of the local people.

The specific objectives were: a) to help the stakeholders to elaborate fair agreements about the management of natural resources; b) to create the conditions for the negotiations and play a mediation role; and, c) to help to implement agreements reach;

The different stakeholders achieved sustainable resource management and livelihoods through building their capability and working together towards a common goal. They addressed jointly the local problems that related to livelihoods and natural resources.
