Doctor of agriculture. Areas of expertise are forest management, forest carbon monitoring and REDD+. Main positions are lead author of IPCC Fourth Assessment Report (2007), LULUCF Good Practice Guidance (2006) , AFOLU Guidelines (2007) and Supplementary Methods (2013), and project leader of development of Japan’s Forest carbon accounting and reporting system for Kyoto reporting. Matsumoto has been the project leader of REDD+ projects funded by the Japanese Forestry Agency since 2010.
