Terrestrial Program Advisor, The Nature Conservancy, Indonesia
Lex Hovani is the Terrestrial Program Advisor for The Nature Conservancy in Indonesia, supporting development of the national REDD+ program in Indonesia and development of a large-scale REDD+ demonstration program in Berau District of East Kalimantan. The Berau program is an integrated, district-scale, low-carbon development program, aiming to create sustainable economic growth while protecting high value forests and watersheds. Prior to joining the Indonesia Program, Lex was part of TNC’s Global Forests and Climate Team based in Washington DC, where he supported the early development of the Forest Carbon Partnership Facility as well as TNC’s REDD+ programs in Brazil. Lex has also been involved in developing large-scale ecosystem services investment funds in the U.S. Pacific Northwest and in Panama. His academic background is in forest ecology and business.
