Head of Climate Change and Forestry Programme, Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM)
Dr Elizabeth Philip is the Head of Climate Change and Forestry Programme in Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM). During her 20 years tenure, she has spearheaded more than ten projects dealing from plant resources documentation, arboriculture, environmental and forestry issues. She is a Plant Physiologist and specializes in environmental physiology. She was directly involved in the preparations of the Second National Communications to UNFCCC and the National Biological Diversity Policy. In addition, she is also charged with developing the National REDD+ Strategy and leads the national initiatives. She is also a certified arborist by the International Society for Arboriculture (ISA). Dr Philip has actively participated in many discussions relating to climate change, biodiversity and arboriculture both at home and abroad. She sits in a number of national, regional and international technical committees.
