Senior Scientist, sustainable management in plantation foresty, CSIRO
Dr Daniel Mendham is leading and delivering a range of projects are aimed at addressing the sustainable management challenges facing plantation forestry.
The basis of his work is improving our understanding of the carbon, nutrient and water cycles in planted forests and incorporation of new knowledge into process-based models and decision support systems for application by industry.
Dr Mendham studies plantations in a range of environments, including:
- temperate plantations in southern Australia
- tropical plantations in Indonesia and Vietnam
- dry-area agroforestry in the agricultural areas of Australia
