COP20 President and Peru Environment Minister to speak at Forests Asia

(February 14, 2014) _ Manuel Pulgar-Vidal, Peru Minister of Environment and President of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change 20th Conference of the Parties, has confirmed that he will travel to Indonesia for the Forests Asia Summit.

He will give a high-level plenary speech at the Summit in which he will outline his vision for how forests, forest-related emissions, adaptation in forests and AFOLU (Agriculture, Forestry and Other Land Use) are likely to figure in the draft text that will be tabled in Lima at COP20.

Pulgar-Vidal will be responsible for getting the draft text into shape, and will play a key role in outlining how research agencies, the private sector, and civil society can support governments in formulating a consensus on forest issues in the 2020 climate regime.
