Climate-smart agriculture: balancing trade-offs in food systems and ecosystems

Climate-smart agriculture aims to transform the world food system into one that results in greater productivity and food security for farmers and consumers, resilience and adaptation to climate change, and reductions in emissions across landscapes. But how can these aims be integrated into the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)?

By articulating current policy momentum and priorities around climate change and food, the session aimed to highlight the role of CGIAR research in creating synergies and navigating trade-offs in order to meet both the SDGs and the objectives of climate-smart agriculture.
