This application was developed by the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR), with support from Profundo. It was developed under the European Commission–funded project 'Bioenergy, sustainability and trade-offs: Can we avoid deforestation while promoting bioenergy?'.
- Production and consumption data obtained from the International Energy Statistics database of the US Energy Information Administration (EIA).
- Investment data was collated from various reliable media, corporate and government sources and external publications. Individual references are cited in the company profiles. For information on unreferenced entries, please contact the administrator.
The dataset is undergoing continued development. Due to limitations in the availability of accurate data, some investments may have been omitted and some may no longer be operational. While we aim to use data only from reliable sources, we acknowledge the possible existence of factual errors. We therefore very much value any user contributions.
