This photo was taken of Mount Merapi, an active volcano until now, located near Yogyakarta, on the island of Java. When the last big eruption happened in 2010, Merapi erupted volcanic materials over 1.5 km high, causing some damage, but which made the lands around Merapi very fertile after it the volcanic materials cooled. Consequently, plants around Merapi grow quickly, making for beautiful rainforest scenery. This has attracted more tourists to visit Merapi, but they must still be vigilant in case Merapi is awakened and erupts again
