As Lima comes into the spotlight and the world focuses its attention on such critical issues as climate change, sustainability, food security and land use, CIFOR is helping to give people a voice in the conversation by organizing a social media workshop – in Spanish.
CIFOR and Peru’s Ministry of the Environment are partnering on the workshop, which aims to build participants’ skills and knowledge of popular social media tools such as Facebook, Twitter, blogging – tools that, when used strategically, can be very powerful for increasing presence and community engagement.
The workshop will run on 4 and 5 December. Participants will then get a chance to practice their skills by covering the Global Landscapes Forum, a major conference held on 6 and 7 December on the sidelines of the UN climate talks, and publishing their blogs on landscapes.org/es.
Spaces are limited and by application only. For more information on curriculum and how to apply, see Taller de redes sociales.
